Apparently the club have had an Italian whizzkid turn up looking for a team to play for. The experienced player has been plying his trade in Italy for the past four years within a Seria B team, albeit reserves, but has come to London to study and wishes to continue to play.

Of course there are bound to be barriers, whether he is as good as he says he is and if so money being another but wouldn't it be nice eh?

Youth Are Back!

A chance email via the Official Site has borne fruit with the arrival of a new Youth Team set up. The side will be managed by Tony Fitzgerald (a level 3 qualified coach) who is assisted by his brother, Kevin. The secretary is Nick Horley.

The team are still looking for players and sponsors. If you are an under 18 footballer who has played at a high standard, you should contact Nick Horley on nick.horley@zen.co.uk.

Fixture Date

The Ryman League have announced that the fixtures for the 06/07 Season are likely to be published week ending Friday, 14th July.

The Lip will try and get these sharpish as we did last year and hope for a better run of midweek fixtures for one and more glamourous bank holiday ties for another!

Well I am back from a fantastic trip from Germany, having seen a great game but unable to tap up any of the Ukrainians to join us. I do have a tale of one Leatherhead bound player I heard while at the Tanners party but I have only just remembered it.

A utility player by the name of Stewart Holmes could be on his way which could address many of the defensive midfield arguments that not only rage in the England camp but here too!

This time tomorrow I will be in Germany on a scouting mission for Leatherhead as I take in the tie of the World Cup so far... Ukraine v Saudi Arabia.
