Tanners 2 - 1 YMCA

Leatherhead at last show some winning style in this encounter. Billy Marshall showed why we were so excited to get his signature by slotting home his first goal after just six minutes and then working hard to set up Scott Forrester for his opening goal.

To make it exciting they quickly allowed the visitors to score and soon after Baker took a knock that will see him sidelined for weeks.

The comeback of James Greenaway was also another plus from today´s game.
Horsham YMCA Are Coming

What with all the excitement of the season so farI have completely forgotten to mention that our friends from down the A24 are coming.

Last season the Horsham side did not get off to a good start. Obviously they were badly effected by jokes about who was the policeman and who was the Native American etc but after their manager gave them the "sticks and stones" talk they turned it around.

They may need that talk again today as the Tanners are desperate to shrug off the disappointment of last week and get some much needed goals. Should be a belter!

Kick off at 3pm!

Oh So Casuals 0 - 1 Corinthian Casuals

The hoodoo that is the visit of the team from Tolworth strikes again with them taking all three points in this drab encounter. All three of my reporters filed the same report. There was nothing there today.

The table again makes for difficult reading.

Corinthian Casuals Are Coming!

Thanks to Gerald we have a game to play this weekend against our old friends the Casuals. I actually think this side only set out to win two games all season... against us home and away as wherever they find themselves in the league they seem to give us a good kicking.

Leatherhead should win this fixture, as was the case a few years ago when we thought we had the play-offs in the bag but they left with the three points. After a nice win at the weekend we find ourselves looking to beat them again to stay in touch with the leading pack.

Good luck fellas. I will find out the score on my return from the big Paulista game!

Travelling Tanners

The last time I was at this ground to watch the Tanners it was my stag do. I was dressed in a rather tight fitting green tracksuit with "I love the boys" written all over it. Sadly the sting had gone out of our promotion challenge so the game lacked any real entertainment value. For many the male stripper that arrived to make a man of me was the only real highlight.

Anyway. Hopefully this is will be a chance to put the disappointment of last week behind us and get cracking in the league. They have ex-Tanners Nko playing in the back four so a bit of pace there could provide us with some goals.

Directions

Follow the A24 to the town. At end of Broadwater Road, having gone over railway bridge, take the 1st right into Teville Road at the roundabout. Turn right into South Farm Road, then 2nd left into Pavilion Road. Woodside Road is the 1st turning on the right, and the ground is on the left hand side.

Tell the other half shopping is off!

Scant consolation I know but football is back on for the 15th at the Grove. The Tuesday fixture against Corinthian Casuals has been brought forward to ensure we have football that weekend.

Before that we have to go to Worthing next Saturday. This may come as some relief as it represents an away game that does not involve Kent! Ahhhh, and the memories of my stag do...
